Values

The whole school community demonstrate the following values in all that we do....

  • We are Courageous - we have a go, take risks, and do the right thing.
  • We are Kind - we show respect and care to ourselves and others.
  • We are Accepting - we accept ourselves and others as unique individuals
  • We are Ambitious - we do our best to be our best.
  • We Persevere - we keep trying until we succeed.

Littlegreen Academy is a special school for 80 boys aged 7-16 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Many children also have a range of additional needs including Autism, ADHD, Attachment Disorders, Anxiety and Speech and Language delay.

Littlegreen is a member of the Solent Academies Trust, a partnership of schools including Mary Rose Academy, Cliffdale Primary Academy and Redwood Park Academy. Together we ensure that our pupils experience the very best education possible and achieve great things.

Outdoor Learning

At Littlegreen we have wonderful school grounds that enable us to spend quality time learning in the great outdoors. Our woodland and wildlife friendly areas provide our boys with calming space where they can reflect, interact with nature and wildlife and develop a wide range of personal and social skills. Research tells us that having regular access to green spaces improves both mental and physical health and helps young people to better appreciate the world and the people around them.

Summer Term Topic Stunning Start - Spectrum

Key Stage 3 spent the morning of the 22nd April celebrating the start of ‘Spectrum’ their new topic area. The morning was spent discussing the relationship between what pupils thought the word Spectrum represented to them e.g. colours, rainbows, feelings etc and relating it to the six school values that will support the boy’s growth into confident adults who are able to lead healthy, happy and successful lives. As you can see from the pictures, the boys enjoyed being creative by making stain glass windows, expressing their emotions through colourful scatter spray canvases and also putting thought into what rainbows symbolise across the world and throughout history. Well done for all your wonderful efforts.
